Urban Prerunner

Urban Prerunner –

The Toyota Prerunner model was introduced to leverage the mystique of purpose-built trucks used to pre-run off-road race courses. “Pre-runners” are typically street licensed but often only marginally street legal, often being full-blown race chassis and drivelines under the skin.

Thus, it was amusing when I spotted this Toyota Prerunner model in a regional city in Thailand.

Over here, pre-running in an urban landscape makes a lot of sense, especially the streets of Bangkok.

Out here in the relative sticks, it makes less sense as a brand positioning, but no less humor for those who’ve spent time in Southern California.
