This footrest and spoke guard is installed on nearly every scooter and motorcycle in India, Sikkim and Bhutan. It allows female passengers to sit sidesaddle. We saw more than one girl perched sidesaddle on a bike weaving through traffic placidly reading a book or newspaper.
