Aya Sofya, also known as Hagia Sofia and The Church of the Divine Wisdom, was built by the Roman emporor Justinian from 532 to 537. It reigned as the greatest church in Christiandom until the Muslim conquest in 1453 when it was converted to a mosque. It was declared a museum by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, in 1935. Istanbul, Turkey.
