Church fresco detail. This is the only transvestite fresco we've ever seen in a church. It is a local saint who was a former prostitute who prayed for a way to keep men from bothering her for services. God provided a male beard. While on this trip we also saw numerous depictions of a nude Jesus at his baptism (Turkey and Syria) and a painting of the Virgin Mary nursing the Christ child (Syria). Cappadocia, Turkey.
