I spent about an hour "talking" with these two shepards who happened by. We used a combination of hand gestures, the five words of English they knew and our nearly worthless Turkish phrase book to converse. We gave them cookies and they gave us pieces of their flat bread they carried in hand sewn pouches. Along the road in Northeastern Turkey near Ardahan, Turkey. Photo by Stephanie Hackney.
