Today’s Spider

Today’s Spider –

We don’t go seeking these things out. They just happen, or, as in this case, we stumble upon them along a trail.

I do not know what species this spider is.

It’s about the size of a man’s hand.

It lives in that dark hole up above where it is perched, but when we passed happened to be out sunning or chatting with the neighbors or doing whatever large spiders do in the jungle in SE Asia.

Here’s a little closer look:

Sweet dreams…

    Beautiful! Fascinated with spiders!!

  2. Reminds me of a guy, who in 1993 in the Pozo Mountains, put a glove down by a large tarantula (to show scale for photographs) and then got scared about picking the glove back up. Seems like he’s getting pretty bold with that big marco lens.

  3. Ave, As I recall, I didn’t get nearly as close to the tarantula as this one. I think I’ve got a photo of the glove & tarantula in an album somewhere.
